Wood worker and carver, who prefers to work in green/unseasoned wood.
I carve woodspirits, greenmen, spoons, bowls, jewellery, little people, walking sticks, and anything else that the wood dictates.
Apart from the occasion use of a chainsaw, I aim to use only traditional methods and hand tools; axes, adze, knives, spoon gouges amongst other edge tools.
I have an eclectic background in industrial environmental management, Tree work, Primary School teaching and leadership. However, in 2014 I required spinal surgery which resulted a period of recovery. During this time I spent many hours led on the floor and began carving small items to pass the time. This quickly developed into an obsession which extends my love of trees and wood.
